KollabKit ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it when you use kollabkit.com and app.kollabkit.com (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide directly

  • Account details: Name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Profile content: Bio, niche tags, rate card, and past collaboration details you add to your media kit.
  • Payment details: Name and email used during checkout. We do not store card numbers, UPI IDs, or any other payment credentials — these are handled entirely by Razorpay.

b. Instagram data (via Meta Graph API)

  • Public profile information: username, profile photo, follower count, following count, bio
  • Insights: engagement rate, average likes, average comments, reach, impressions
  • Audience demographics (where available via the API)

We access this data only with your explicit authorisation through Instagram's secure OAuth flow. We request read-only permissions and never take any action on your account.

c. Usage & technical data

  • IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
  • Pages visited, time on site, click interactions
  • Referral source (how you found KollabKit)

This data is collected via cookies and analytics tools to improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Service: Generate, display, and update your media kit.
  • To process payments: Pass your name and email to Razorpay to complete transactions and send payment receipts.
  • To communicate with you: Send account-related emails (receipts, password resets, plan updates, feature announcements).
  • To improve KollabKit: Analyse usage patterns to fix bugs and build better features.
  • To comply with legal obligations: Maintain transaction records as required by Indian financial regulations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Payment Processing by Razorpay

All payments on KollabKit are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited (CIN: U72200KA2013PTC097389), a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway authorised by the Reserve Bank of India.

When you pay, your billing information (name, email, card/UPI details) is transmitted directly to Razorpay's secure servers. KollabKit only receives a payment confirmation and transaction ID — we never see or store your raw payment credentials.

Razorpay's data practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review it before making a payment.

4. Data Sharing

We share your information only with:

  • Razorpay — to process subscription payments
  • Meta (Instagram) — to authenticate your account and fetch insights via their API
  • Analytics providers — anonymised, aggregated usage data only
  • Email service providers — to send transactional and product emails

All third-party providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purpose of providing services to KollabKit.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of KollabKit and its users.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in to your account
  • Remember your preferences
  • Analyse how the Service is used

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of the Service.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained for as long as your account is active, plus 90 days after deletion to allow recovery.
  • Instagram data is refreshed on each media kit view and not stored beyond session caching.
  • Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Disconnect Instagram access at any time from your account settings or via Instagram
  • Data portability — request an export of your KollabKit data

To exercise any of these rights, email support@kollabkit.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption, hashed password storage, and restricted access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your KollabKit account.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
